Is it possible that you or someone you know struggles to hear a person speak or has trouble with certain sounds? Hearing difficulty is not uncommon. It is estimated that 38 million people in the United States have some level of hearing difficulty.1 While so many are affected by hearing loss, unfortunately many ignore their problem or decide to “live with it”. I’m inviting you to take an easy step to see if it’s time to schedule an appointment with a hearing professional.

In recognition of World Hearing Day on March 3, the Hearing Industries Association is launching “The Take 3 for Me Hearing Challenge.” No, you don’t need to take an ice bath, post a selfie, run a marathon, or set a new Guinness World Record. This challenge is simple and can be completed in just a few steps:

3 simple steps that could change your life for the better!

  1. Click the link: www.hearing.org/hearing-screening/
  2. Take the quick online hearing screening.
  3. If prompted, schedule an appointment with a hearing professional to discuss your results and decide if a more comprehensive hearing exam is needed.

Do a solid for yourself and then help a friend or family member by sharing the link and encouraging them to take the challenge. Remember, today there are many options and many price points for hearing aids. And if you worry about stigma, as Cher said in one of my favorite movies, Moonstruck, “Snap out of it!” Your ears are important, so pay attention to them.
