The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) recently held in Las Vegas, Nevada, was an amazing exhibition of state-of-the-art and future technology. Covering everything from TVs to automobile tech, to robotics and more, there was also a large showing of hearing health-related technology.

Emerging technology includes incorporating hearing tech into different types of devices, expanding the capabilities of smartphone applications, and a focus on customization. Additionally, CES featured different types of tech that make captioning more accessible and incorporated into daily life.

Hearing aids have made – and continue to make – enormous strides. Today’s discreet technology provides clear, rich sound quality and better speech understanding in noisy environments. Features of hearing aids may include fall detection, language translation, tinnitus maskers, and more. Many manufacturers also make phone apps for hearing aids so the user can easily adjust their hearing aids right from their phone. With Bluetooth connectivity, hearing aids can even stream phone calls, music, and podcasts directly to your ears. With additional accessories, you can connect to other tech in your home such as a TV or home entertainment system.

Treating hearing loss through the medical marvels that are hearing aids can help you lead a happier, healthier life. If you think you or a loved one may be experiencing hearing difficulty, or to learn more about available technologies and options, reach out to a local hearing professional.
